Well a few mths back we were able to see Little Dani our 9mth old Candi Cane Corn shed in his viv. Pretty exciting to watch, especially for the kids.
So tonight Daniella had him out & he just came out of blue a few days ago & we were in the kitchen she was on the floor w/ him & she started saying Little Dani is shedding. I honestly did not believe her & she yelled Momma come see he is shedding in my hands! Sure enough he was half way done by the time I got there. I was able to get one photo. It really happened so quickly. Daniella is on cloud nine!
How cool is that. He is such a cool pet! We just love how amazing he is & how much he has taught us since we have had him.
Anyway here is the only photo I was able to get!

You know through my kids I have experience things I thought I would never experience! I know Daniella loves these snakes & I am so thankful to be so open-minded to bring into my home one of the most feared animals there is....they are so misunderstood..LOL

Hey girl! Isn't that the coolest thing ever!! He is so comfortable around her. Its so amazing their little bond they have together! :)

I try not to handle my snakies when they're blue. But I love to watch them shed before my eyes. Kiowa feels comfortable enough to come out in the open to do it all the time. The other kids are hiders. =) It would be so cool to let him shed in my hands though... maybe one day.

That is cool. I have not had them start in my hands, but I have helped when they have a difficult shed.

Yes all the time Vikki.

I had my hypo start to shed while doing a hands on event, a fish fair, on my girlfriend he wanted to run through her hair and started to shed. lol We placed back in his bag and he finished up very nicely.

I had a wee one do it for me as well recently. I got a damp cloth and let him run through it to clean up. He came out nice and purty like. ;)

Jim, LOL how wild is that? In her hair? lol
I ran & got a damp cloth also as I was worried to death something could go wrong. Nope he looks purdy...LOL

"Wild America" in my lap; baby shed last night

I had a similar, also amazing, experience last night. I knew Yohsong ('07 female amel) was due to shed but was what happened was totally unexpected. She was in her paper towel tube when I checked on her. She wanted to come out, and spent some time moving through my hands. I'm not sure how to explain it, but she held her body differently. She also spent some time just wrapping around one hand, which is unusual for her.
I have oddly shaped stick that she uses like a jungle-gym when she's out. She'll climb up and down it for quite a while. I know that sticks can be helpful for snakes' shedding, so I put it beside me on the couch in case she Well, last night after she moved to the stick she didn't go up and down; she went round and round, rubbing her face. I realized what was happening, and was fascinated by the process. She managed to catch the old skin on the stick, then proceeded across the couch and back into my hand to finish her shed.
I'm still a newbie, and I've only had Yohsong since Feb. 1. I felt before like we've developed a bond, and last night confirmed that. I feel so privileged!
