Heat Pad?

hi i was just wondering ...i have my under the tank heat pad ..but the sticky side has dirt on it or it just dosnt stick any more ..i was wondering if it is safe to put something under it to keep it in position because right now it just sits under there not stuck to the glass ..it just falls off is the pad no good or can i safely place something underit to keep it in position ?
 
i would think that duct tape might bubble from the heat??? Id stick to electrical tape.. or if you can get a hold of that metal tape that the AC guys use (yeah my father-in-law installes AC so we got some of that stuff)

Nope, No bubbling, the uth never got that hot. and I moved it from the tank and then back again when I was switching tank around.
 
I've also used the handyman's secret weapon--Duct Tape--on UTHs and never had a problem.
 
Yuppers duct or fil will work perfectly.. Just make sure the UTH does not have any hot spots after the removal...
