Heating Cable Placement Question

I'm in the process of building my first custom vivarium(incomplete pic attached) and I have a couple of questions regarding heating.

Firstly, it's 3/4" plywood and the dimensions for each cubicle are 36"L x 20"D x 24"H. Each side should be plenty of room for a full size corn and then some. I may even split the two sides vertically since corns aren't usually arboreal.

Now my question is regarding heating. My current plan is to use the zoo med heat cable inside the viv covering 1/3 of the floor space at one end of each cubicle. So roughly a 12" x 20" area of cable. It will be attached to a rheo/thermstat or dimmer to regulate temps.

I plan on doing one of two things.

1. Attach the cable directly to the plywood and then place a ceramic tile over the top.

2. Attach the cable to a ceramic piece of tile and place another tile over the top making a sandwich.

Also, as you can see from the attached pic, this is actually two vivariums side by side and connected. I had planned on the hotspots being at the center on both sides of the divider, not the ends.

Does this sound like a good plan? Which would you do? Any other ideas, improvements or suggestions?

I've attached a pic of it in it's current form. Please be gentle as this is the first thing I've ever built. The plexiglass is foggy as I haven't pulled off the protective film yet.

on my display rack, I taped the heat cable to the melamine wood, then set a 13x13 tile on top and siliconed it around the edges. Works great.
