Hi. I have a male that is currently 200 grams. I want to breed him next year. should he be heavy enough if I feed him once a week?
 
Next year as in a few months from now, or as in 2009?

It's probably not as critical that a male be very big, except that he might be too young to 'get it right' or not be accepted by the larger female.
 
If it's a male then give him a go with the girls. At 200g he could probably breed just fine; though fertility may not be as high. But you never know. I say go for it!
 
Males weighing 200 grams have been successfully bred by many breeders. There can be a large variation in fertility depending upon the male. If possible, try a short brumation (4-6 weeks) as I've found that to increase the fertility rates. I have several smaller males in brumation now. Yes, I could have fed them through the winter and increased their size, but I would rather try to increase the fertility rate this year.
 
I'd go for it as well. At 200 you have a good chanceof success. I would normally aim for 250 plus in males and 300 plus in females but again 200 should be fine.
 
Why two different screen names? Anyways, not it's not too late to brumate. I haven't started brumating yet as I have a couple of girls who I wanted to get up to size and just brumate everyone at the same time.

I have two accounts because I couldn't activate my first one (Dragon Queen), so I made another. Then, I was able to activate both, and now have two. This computer automatically signs me on as this.......And my other comp. signs me on as Dragon Queen...... lol
