Hey guys,

A big hello from BC, Canada. I used to have a corn, but don't anymore. Had to sell her because I just couldn't keep both my snakes. What's the other snake you ask? Well, it's my pride and joy: Anubis, my Eastern Black Kingsnake.

Here he is, one of the rare times he's given me opportunity for some candid shots:

And this is me enjoying one of my most favourite activities: trail running :)

I know I don't have a corn, but hope I'm still welcome :)

Welcome to the forum! You may not have a Corn yet, but I'm sure you will. They're very tempting!

Also, that's the blackest, most solid Black Kingsnake I've seen. Are you sure it's not a Mexican Black Kingsnake? He's beautiful either way!

Thanks jlindp,

He's been called a lot of things by various people. The guy at the store said he was a Mexican Black. I then took it a herpetologist at my uni and she said most likely an Eastern. I don't know which personally or how to tell the difference. So I went with the person who had the most letters behind their name ;)

The guy at the store said it was a female and I later found out it was a male, so I didn't have much faith in him...

I had a corn before and I loved her. She was the best hunter I had ever seen (my king is so-so on the best of days). She took down a juvenile rat with amazing accuracy. Took about 40 minutes to get down and I didn't see her for a solid two weeks, but she did it. I do miss her, but I couldn't keep both, just didn't have the means :(

We love all snakes here. Welcome from Oregon :D Beauty you got there, do you have any pics of the girl you did have?

Thanks K. Rene :) I found these. The first is Callisto taking that rat. You can see just by the rats legs how big it was. I'd say a good 4x the size of a large mouse. The thing took up my hand!

The second is her lounging on her favourite log. I miss that about her. She used to come out a lot and just lounge in the heat of the lamp :(
