Hello,

Looks like an informative forum with lotsa of interesting read.

One egg out of six finally hatched. Other five were infertile. My guess, is, the female wasn't quite mature enough, only about 36" in length.

Anyways, here is a pic:

Thanks everyone,

The snake, my best guestimate, is probably around 10". It probably would not benefit the snake if I stretched it out next to a ruler. Thats the egg it hatched from just to the left of it - almost the size of a 'oblong' quarter.

Hatched on Aug 24, after 73 days of incubation. Used Perlite as the substrate.

Does the snake retain this color as it matures, or does it change?

It will change a little. When my normals hatched out they were almost all black and after their first shed I can already see that they are getting more red.

Here is a picture of a normal (classic) corn. It may look more like this when it grows up.

The male parent looks similiar to the orange corn you have pictured, and the female is a very saturated blood red type. Hopefully, I'll get the best of both worlds.

Thanks everyone for the replies...

As one poster pointed out earlier, said the snake looked really big, actually the snake is very small, I just used the macro mode on my digicam, which seems to make everything larger than life. I should have put a coin next to the snake, to get an idea of scale.

Mimzy shed her skin yesterday (named because we saw the The Last Mimzy and our daughter dubbed her Mimzy). Dropped a pinky in her enclosure last night and it was still there this morning. Thawed another pinky and used the tease method in which she finally struck and clamped down on it. And then swallowed it.

Glad our pet store went out of business a few weeks ago, otherwise, I would have never found 'The Big Cheese Rodent Factory' and purchased a boatload of frozen mice for a fraction of the cost (even with shipping it was a good deal). Highly recommended.

Pictured here is her wedging herself under the lid of the container trying to molt...after taking this picture, I put a rock inside the container, which seemed to help quite a bit.
