Hi everyone! I'm brand new to this forum and just starting out getting ready for my very first corn snake! I'm excited to learn all I can before I get my new family member. I'm a big-time animal lover and currently my family includes my greyhound Brode, a betta named Paulie, a 29-gallon freshwater Asian-themed fish tank with gouramis, and a 200-gallon saltwater fish tank with a lionfish, foxface, and bluethroat trigger. I'd always wanted to get a snake, and after doing some research decided a corn would be the perfect snake for me. I'm looking forward to learning all I can on this corns-only forum!

Howdy from the south. Make sure you do some research. Your state has some restrictions on corns. I am not sure what they are but I think you can have a corn that is not "normal" or "classic" looking.

It's you must have a sake that has red or ruby eyes so "they" can tell its not wild caught.(I would have gotten a normal....)

welcome! any questions you have, you can bet your life that these guys on here will help you out in any way they can (i tell you from personal experience)

Interesting info--I did see a corn in Pet Smart that was amelanistic--I do know that in NJ you need to have a permit for a corn--but I'm not sure if that means you can only buy one within the state, or if you can purchase one from a breeder out of state. Does anyone know? I'd figure I'd ask before I call the state wildlife department and have to deal with "press 1, press 2, please hold" LOL.
