Hello from Ontario!

Good afternoon all. Im new to the corn snake scene, and this website has already been very informative. Ive always wanted a snake for a pet and finally made it happen last week after quite a bit of research. Got a 5-month old albino and named him Verstech. Its a rough translation from German meaning "hidden". We couldnt come up with a name, but it stayed hidden for the first week (as i now understand is normal) so it seemed to fit nicely.
Anyhow apart from the odd friends/family that claim to not come over with a snake occupying the premises, everthing is going nicely. :)
Im 27, live just west of Ottawa, Canada. I pound away on a "nerd box" all day at work as GIS technician, but am a member of the local fire department and am very active there, so it keeps me busy.
Looking forward to more of your advice and thanks in advance!

Hey Brandon. Welcome to the scene. What type of albino do you have,ie snow, amel, anery? Post a few pics when you get a chance.

Hi there and welcome to the forum :D be careful though corns are addicting! lol As Whoty said we could tell you for sure what type of albino you have if you post some pics, we LOVE pics :) Don't hesitate to ask questions, were here to help each other.

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry about your friends/family. Before long they will come to your house JUST to see your snake.

Welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new to the world of cornas but will try and give advice where I can. Most of all enjoy and yes they are very addictive i've only had Smokey 4 months and am already looking to get more

Welcome and please show us pics!!!

It is funny how scared some people are of snakes. Just wait until you have to go away and need someone to check on your snake... lol... back when I only had my first one my friend was frantic and refused to put her hand in the tank, so she would only pour water into the dish through the screen top:roflmao:

Welcome! And good on you for being a fire fighter when you're not pounding the nerd box!

Welcome!

I'm also in Ontario, not too far away either. I have been doing online GIS modules for the past few weeks for biology research...kind of frustrating right now, but hopefully really useful in the future. :/

Thanks! It helps me keep my sanity, gets me out of the office quite often, cause I actually hate computers haha :headbang:
