Hey everyone. :wavey:

I just recently found this forum and have been lurking for a little bit. I feel so out of the loop and a noob. The last time I had any snakes was just under 10 years ago! Seems like there have been so many new things discovered and genetic information put out into the world. It's going to take some time to get caught up that's for sure.

10 years ago I worked for Petco and had money saved up that whenever we received anything other than a normal or wild type corn, I purchased it on the spot. I think before I had to sell them off I had roughly 32 corns, give or take. My personal faves are the cream, pink, lavender, snows, etc. I saw a picture of a pewter for the first time today and I must say I am in love. I'm not to fond of the "red" snakes which is funny because any other type of animal and I'm drawn to the red ones more than anything else... funny...

I currently do not have any snakes yet. I'm starting to collect supplies and read up on genetics and things. Either I've forgotten a lot of the information that is on this site or there's quite a bit of new information I need to learn.

:roflmao:

Yes I'm happy to be back in the addiction. I spent quite a bit of time yesterday on Craigslist in my area looking for ads with Corns in them. I'm hoping to hear back from a couple soon. I said I was gonna wait but my goodness people sell them cheap on there. There is an add for an okeetee and it's enclosure for $20. There was one added last night for a lavender anerythrestic male with his enclosure for $40.... This could get "bad" real fast XD

Be careful on Craigslist, some can be unhealthy, abused or neglected. It's usually more of a rescue scenario. That said there are also pleanty of healthy beautiful finds on Craigslist just try to use good judgement and inspect the snake (and keeper) before you buy. My Lt. Dan was a Craigslist find. His former handlers were feeding him wild caught lizards, he's still underweight and I've had feeding issues with him. My other boys all came from breeders never had any issues with them.
Good luck in your search.

Yeah it sucks too. There is one on there labeled "albino blood" that in the picture on the ad is very much starving and when I emailed the woman she says that was a photo when she got him and that he doesn't look like that now. In so many words (maybe not so nice ones) I told her that she needed new photos if that was true.

I realize the risk, sad as it is. But I also have an awesome, cheap vet who is a life saver. I dunno. I'm becoming kinda picky too so that helps I guess. Plus at the same time, I'm still trying to read up on all this new genetic stuff so I don't want to get in over my head.

I really try to lol but then I have oooh shiny moments and act like a five year old in a candy store. Just gotta keep on track.

I would not shy away from Craigslist at all. I got 2 of my 3 snakes on CL, and one was from a very reputable breeder here in AZ... So, just be cautious, and make sure you check out the situation before you get the snake. :)

Yeah. A guy just posted 4 snows, 3 anery, and 2 classics(???) that hes trying to send more pics of and they are a pretty good deal so I'm going to check them out I think, specifically the Snows and the Anerys because that's kinda the direction I'm looking on going anyway. He's been trying to send me photos from his phone but it's not working out to well. :(

Awesome thanks. That helps out quite a bit actually because I have an idea in my head of what I'd like but I didn't know the genetic makeup of it. Now I do!

And the addiction has started! So my "I'm not going to get any right now" idea got blown out the window. Thanks craigslist...

Heather, I sent you a rather lengthy message. Sorry about that I tend to yap yap yap when I'm excited and have a lot on my mind. I looked at your babies but I'm going to re look at them. When did you think they will be available?
