Hi all. New to the forum and new to snakes. After having to give up our wonderful cats due to my daughter's allergies, we went the hamster route. Unfortunately after a few more deaths than we wanted to deal with, we looked at other pet options and ended up with...a snake and that is basically since my wife still after 12 years will not let me get another tarantula.

Thanks to some help from BloodyBaroness and a fair share of reading various sites and lurking here we have a beautiful baby Anery who we are hoping is settling in okay. I am so impatient and want to give my baby some attention but am waiting for it to get acclimated to the new surroundings still.

Hello, Rush fan, welcome.
I'm sure BloodyBaroness told you the basics, but check out the Husbandry and Basic Care FAQ at the top of that forum.
You'll find that a snake is a good choice, very easy to take care of, and with less expense than most mammals. They're not much for fetching things and keeping your feet warm, but they're really quiet and they don't dig stuff out of the trash.

Hey there and Welcome, let us know if you have any questions and post pics once it's settled in :D

Welcome! Pictures are almost a requirement of joining....but I bet BloodyBaroness told you that already...

Welcome to the forums. There are a lot of great people here with a lot of great info and support.
