Hello~

I am super new to this board. I don't even own a cornsnake (yet...) Currently, I am living in Vancouver, BC Canada, but I am planning to move out of my parents' house and San Jose, CA in September.

Every time, I go to a snake / reptile show, I just can't get my hands off the snakes. After consulting with a few snake owners at the show, I have decided to get a corn snake after I move out.

After days of researching, I still can't find a corn snake breeder in Northern California. (I only see ball python breeders.) So, I am here to test my luck and to find a good breeder and to equip myself with knowledge before getting a corn snake.

P.S. I don't really trust pet store's live animal quality because a long time ago, as a kid, I got fish from Petcetera, the fish die within a few hours. Some of my friends had the same issue at Petcetera. I don't know if it is something they fed the fish... but I feel like the animals are mistreated. (They didn't die because I am an animal killer!!! After failing at Petcetera, I got a fish at GardenWorks... Same food, same tank as the fish from Petcetera, I kept it for 5 years, still alive and well!)

hello and welcome!

Glad to see that your filling your knowledge basket BEFORE you fill your tank! ;)
best thing you could ever do!

you found a great pleace to learn just about anything that has to do with keeping corns, do you know what sex you'll be looking for or morphs? :p
welcome again you'll love it here!

Well, there are still a couple months before I move out. I hope I will have learnt enough by then.

I don't have a sex preference and as my first snake, I don't really have a morphs preference either. I guess I will find a cheap snake first :p (then expand as time moves on)
I have my eyes on a regular Amelanistic or an abino corn snake.

Question... is it Corn Snake or Cornsnake?
