I know you have to go to "User CP" then you need to go to "Edit Avatar" and on your computer you need to take the image you want as your avatar and in either Pain or Photoshop you need to mess with the size of the image until your in the required amount for the avatar. In photoshop I know there is an option to "Save for internet" or something like that...That saves it to the appropriate size right away...good luck...
