Is the male supposed to or known to latch onto the female during breeding? MY male is obviously trying to mate, but hes hangin on about a third of the way down the female.. Doesnt look like hes holding on that well, but hes definitely got a couple of teeth in her...Is that normal?
 
Yes, some males have been known to bite, and hang onto, females during courtship and mating. I had one male do this one year, but only to a specific female, and he hasn't done it since.
