My tank is heated by lights and a heating pad on the bottom should i have 2 lights since theres 2 sockets or is one okay?

Snakes don't need light, it's better to use heat pad.
I usually turn on heat pad when tempture reach below 80 degree.
If it goes over 80 degree, I unplug it.
Since I don't have themostat, I just rarely use it because tempt in my room
is around 80-85 degree.

*sigh*

Unplug that heat lamp. First off it sucks the humidity right out of your tank. Second, it's a fire hazard, IMO.

You only need a UTH (heat pad). In regaurds to Josh, I tried to convince myself as well as others that I did not need a thermostat or a UTH. I was mistaken.

Kejen, get over to a hardware store and follow the directions from the link that I found for you below. I build two of them and they work like a dream. You need something to regulate the temp of that heat pad. They can get over 100F.

While you're at that hardware store, pick up a thermometer with a probe. It is probably one of the most important things in your tank. You can find them in the gardening section, most likely.

Lastly, do some research.
