HELP! Snake got out

Torque got out! I was a TOTAL freaking retard and after i changed his water this afternoon before work, I left the top off!!! I've checked and rechecked his viv, he's definitely out....so now what?!?!

My room is freaking a mess, Its going to be impossible to find him without taking everything out, and keeping it out til he's found! But besides the move everything i can and hope i see him, anything else I can do?

PROBLEM is, I have 2 huge papers due tomorrow, and I dont know if I'll be able to look for him much tonight. (SAD!)

I checked behind my fridge already, cuz its the warmest part of my room, but no snake. (although I doubt he was looking for heat, his viv was warm, and its been warm all day.

Im gonna start putting things different places, to at least get things off the floor. A big problem is if I DONT find him its impossible to keep things out from under my bed the whole time, I'd have no room left to walk at all. I have put the cover back on my heating vent, I am crossing my fingers he didnt find that already...its farthest from his cage. UGH!

This makes me so sad.

One of ours is an escape artist and has managed to squeeze out of her cage twice -(she's now in a rack, so shouldn't be traveling any more), but she likes to hide inside things - we found her first time in a firewood bucket I keep old newspapers in and second time inside a sneaker in the closet. Both places were along a wall - any time I have my snakes out on the floor they head for a wall. Both times she was completely out of sight and we needed to look inside the shoe and under the newspapers to find her.

There are a lot of good searching tips on the forum - snake traps, flour on the floor to see where they are, using pinkies for bait etc.....but we've been very fortunate to find her within 48 hrs each time.

I hope you find him!!

If it makes you feel any better, I found my snake after two weeks off being lost. I didn't use any traps, she just showed up. Hopefully yours will too. Good luck.

i agree with the things debcash told you to do. another suggestion might be to put one of his hides in one of the corners of your room. It may work and it may not but one way or another i'm sure you'll find your snake. good luck!

my snake, Blaze, got out the first night. I found him in a tiny cardboard box that was laying on the shelf next to his viv. It was a box that my new cellphone had come in. I glanced in the box and saw the tip of his tail. i had to take everything out of the box to get to him. I kept him in his deli cup that night until i could get to the petstore the next day to get a tighter fitting lid for his viv. now his viv has a tight fitting metal screen top with clips. before i had a plastic rimmed screen top with the pegs. he apparently pushed up the back of the lid and got out.

Based on what I have read here and personal experience, they usually don't go too far. My viv is on top of my dresser and I found Ivory in my panty drawer (the top drawer). Since you don't have a lot of time I would suggest doing your first thorough search close to the viv. Do you live in a dorm? You should definitely stuff a towel or something under the door to avoid your snake from going any further than in your room. I hope you find him soon and keep us updated.

Well I did put something under my door when i realized he was out... so hopefully if he was still IN my room at that point, then he's still in here now.

His viv is on the top of a shelf, meaning he fell oh, almost 5 feet to the ground from the top of the viv :( But apparently he wasnt injured enough to NOT keep going. I've looked near everywhere near his viv, nothing so far. Im going to keep a mouse out everynight with a heatsource and flour to see if he comes around it at all. And keep my closet doors open in case he's in there :S

Im just so sad, I love Torque....I HAVE to find him.

do you have a dresser or chest of drawers? i'd take out the drawers and check to see if he crawled INSIDE of the dresser. my friend's ball python did that once. it's a dark tight space, snakes like dark closed in spaces.
and usually corns dont go very far, they can fit in the tiniest spaces though.

I will tear apart my dresser next. Its semi close to the viv, and in the closet...

I left out another mouse last night, but on sign of him... I wish I just had a ton of time to tear my room apart, but I dont :( I have school and work, and barely had time for sleep as it was! ugh.
