hi everyone,

i'm new to this site and i've got a question i hope someone will be able to help me

i've had my cornsanke for about 6 month i got it of my cousin and i don't know if its on the right diet. i'm still feeding it on 2 pinkies a week.
my snake is about 2 feet long

can anyone tell what i should be feeding it on? :eats02:

Food shouldn't be more than 1.5 times the thickest part of the snake is ,not counting the head.

Next time you buy food buy 4-5 fuzzies (assuming you buy pre-killed) and when they're all gone (3-4 weeks, you should be able to move onto hoppers for a snake that size. I don't reccommend going straight onto hoppers because the snake's not used to it but 4-5 feeds on the in between size should get it ready for an appropriately sized meal.

wot size does a 2 ft snake need?

You don't go by length. You go by girth. Your question was already answered.

Find the fattest point of the snakes body. Buy food that is no more than 1.5 times as fat as that.

If I had to guess I'd reckon it should be on fuzzies (hoppers in the USA?) or possibly even half-growns by now.

:)

Cage Size

Sizing a cage for the snake at 2 foot isn't going to help you in the long run. You may want to think about sizing the cage for the long term. Corns will grow to about 5 foot as adults, while this size cage is more expensive right now it will work out more cost efficient when you add up the cost of all the cages as your snake grows.

I have included a picture of some of my glass vivs that house 3+ foot snakes. They are 20L critter cages that measure approx. 30L x 13W x 12H (the vivs in the top of pic).

I hope this helps.

I have that size viv too. This way your snake will be able to grow and still be confortable. It also will save money so you don't have to keep purchasing bigger tanks.

advice needed

could anyone tell me the best way to clean out my snakes tank?
do i use anti-bacterial spray or plain water?
because i've only cleaned it with water in the past.

I use this stuff ...

... but I believe a bleach/water solution is OK as well. Someone else will need to post up the bleach to water ratio as it's not a method I use. You need rinse it out thoroughly if you're going to use bleach.

im geting a corn snake can any tell me wat should i get for him or her so it will grow like it needs to and eat healthy
