I was feeding my snake the other day and he got the mouse killed all right, But he went to swallow and he was still on this branch and could not get it down! he would just hang off the branch and try but not get it. so then he let the mouse go and slithered around. then he finally got off the branch and started eating. But he could not get past the paw! he tried for 5 mins to get past the paws, he finally did. It was a small mouse, should we down grade to fuzzies? and also shouldi take out that branch? any info helps!

Well, you might want to start feeding dead or stunned mice...not related to this problem, but personally I'd rather not take the risk of the snake getting injured ;)

As for this problem, how big is the snake? A food item should be about 1.5 times the diameter of the widest part of your snakes body. Depending on how big your snake is, you might wan to downsize :) And I don't see a problem with the branch being there.

Hope this helps.

also...
you may want to feed him in another container...
that would avoid your concerns with the branch...
good luck...!
