Herp World Expo Pickup (Caramel Motley)!

Tinkerbeller87

Happily a cornsnake lover
I got this little yearling this weekend at the Herp World Expo in Pasadena, CA. It was my boyfriend and my first time to an expo and had a blast!!! Can't wait for the next one actually.

This was marked as a caramel motley cornsnake yearling. My yearling is a lot bigger than this one so I am sceptical. I don't have a name yet. I think it may be hungry because it is almost alway roaming the tank. I hope it is nice and hungry due to the fact they said they feed live. So wish me luck with when I feed f/t on Sunday.

It's hard to see his true coloring, but his motley pattern is nice :)

Yeah, reptile expos are soooo much fun. Is it probable to go to an expo and walk out empty handed?

Yea, my camera isn't the best. I hope it is at least possible to go to an expo and not get anything cuz the next one near me is in January! lol

Updated Photos!

Here are some pics I took last night freshly shed, not the greatest but hopefully gives you guys a better idea on the true colors. Any idea if this is a caramel motley or something else? I also don't know the sex and it doesn't have a name yet. Any ideas for a name?

Almost looks like an anery motley, but its still hard to be for sure. One of the first pictures you posted looks almost caramel-ish but the recent pics look anery.

What color are its eyes? My caramel has yellow-ish eyes. Anerys will have grey eyes.

Here are pictures of a couple of my snakes as hatchlings.

Caramel first, then Anery.

Hmm...I think they are grey but I will have to check when it is finished digesting. Thanks for the info and the pics. I am leaning toward anery now.

I was thinking that the first pictures were just tainting the color, AND sometimes nice Caramel Mots can look like Anery Mots when they're young, but you can at least see yellow in their background.

My vote is that it's an Anery Motley as well.

I linked these from VMS Herpetoculture to show the visual difference between a Caramel Mot and an Anery Mot. These are hatchlings, but they still illustrate the difference.

This one's really nice! Looks like it will be a hurricane.

So I am torn between a couple of names for this little one. Not knowing for sure whether it is male or female.

Riley: Meaning valiant (Brave; Courageous) Because it likes to huff and puff at my dogs. Acting like it is big and bad, lol so very cute!

Bindi: Meaning beautiful serpent or a bindi is a jewel worn on the forehead of women in India.

Stitch: Just because the black around it's motley pattern almost looks like it is stitched on. (Not seen well in the pictures)

Let me know what you all think about the names. I am so torn and family isn't much help since they are not fond of me having snakes to begin with. LOL
