hey im kinda new to this site and all but i had a question. I currently am keeping a regular corn as i was told(pictures coming soon) and i may end up buying a adult sized terrarium for the snake. I want a really affordable/large one for a adult size corn. I live in arizona and i was wondering possibly what size of terrarium is should get that is affordable and worth. Im not looking for some thing too huge but a size that will keep the snake healthy and happy. And nothing to fancy just big/good enough for decoration, a natural habitat(Branches, Leaves and such) and for the corn to live happy in with no porblems. Please give me the size and brand etc..
thank you all very much

I'm not sure what you mean by terrarium...so the following information pertains to general fish aquariums, which is what most people use when it comes to glass vivs for their corns.

I don't know anything about brands, and don't think the brand makes much difference. I would just look around at pet stores in the area or call around and ask for prices. Check ebay (in your location) and the classifieds in local newspapers.

A 20 gallon long tank can hold an adult. I have a yearling in a 20 long and will definitely be moving her up to a 30 gallon. I feel like the 30 gallon will give her more space, and I need the 20 gallon for rodents. :)

So a 20 long is a the smallest that can house an adult all its life. Around here tanks aren't hugely expensive. My 20 long was $35. The 30gal will probably run me around $50. That's pretty cheap considering it will last her the rest of her life.

Just be sure to provide plenty of hides if you put a young snake in a larger viv.

hey thanx soo a 30 gallon it is. How much do 50-55 gallons go for about 100 or so?
thanx Screw

Yeah, I didn't mean to bias you towards 30 gallon tanks. Quite a few people use larger tanks. Anything larger than a 30 is impractical for me living in an apartment with limited space and moving every year or so because of school.

I don't know how much 55's cost. For me, even if a 55 cost $100 or so, it wouldn't be a bad investment because it could be turned into a really awesome display tank and would last a lifetime for both you and the snake. :)

hey

No problem. One word of caution. I would be careful with foggers/misters if that's what you were referring to. Corns don't need high humidity and can get respiratory infections if kept in high humidity for extended periods.

Good luck with decorating your viv. There's tons of cool stuff to choose from to make a really awesome set-up. :)

If your looking to buy a brand new tank, i would recomend hitting up some of the larger chain type pet stores (ie: PetCo, Petsmart). They usualy have a decent selection of sizes at reasonable prices... just dont let the staff talk you into buying more stuff then you realy need.
