I just bought a corn snake for the first time yesterday! First snake and first pet in 7 years. I'm very excited. Here's a blurry phone shot of the little baby.

No name yet, as I have yet to really interact with it. I look forward to sharing and being a part of this forum [emoji5]

I also just got a Butter Corn Snake and she is beautiful. I fed her for the first time today and she took her food straight away. Never had a snake before so always wanting information. She sleeps a lot is that normal ? They said just feed her once a week but when do I know to feed her maybe twice a week ? Worry about the heating being exact as it tends to go up and down...is that normal ?

thats exciting! Do you have any pics of her? Yeah I think its normal for them to sleep a lot. Theyre nocturnal so shes probably motoring around at night! Varying temps are okay as long as the basking side stays between 80-85f and the cool side doesnt fall below 70. I use a thermostat to regulate the temp of the hot side. As for feeding I follow this chart http://bit.ly/1BIxNh4. Of course this is all just from my research using the care sheet on this forum and some other sources.

I've kept & bred cornsnakes 25 years, never got over the excitement of watching them grow & develop. Bought a Creamsicle in January, named her Seshet. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412798250.898619.jpg
Tried to post a pic, hope it came thru.
