Hey everyone my name is Brian. I'm 24, married and I live in Raeford NC which is next to Fayetteville if anyone knows where that is. Iv always loved reptiles. While growing up I would hunt for them in the yard catching all kinds ( mostly water moccasins) crazy i know lol but we lived near a swamp. My mom has always been scared and would run the other way if she saw a snake no matter what kind ( they were all poisonous to her )lol. So I was never allowed to have one for a pet. FINNALLY I have convienced my wife to let me get a corn snake for my 25th birthday. I googled so much stuff before purchasing but even after buying I still find myself asking and reading up on so much new information. I stumbled upon this forum while gooigling and I must say the help here is awesome. You guys are extremely helpful. I look forward to speaking to you all and continue to learn more and more about these beautiful snakes.

Wait til your wife sees these beauties. They are all eye candy. Glad you finally got your snake. I only find water moccasins too.

This is Him/Her i havent given a name because im not sure if its a boy or girl yet lol. The people at petsmart called it albino. I didnt take much advice from them they didnt know what a thermostat was they kept trying to tell me there is no way to control a UTH and only thing i would need was a thermometer to do that lol. They tried selling me Heat Lights and UV Lights not a UTH. I did my reasearch before purchasing so i had a good idea of what i needed lol. they were scared to pick the snake up out of the enclosure they used its hide to scoop her/him out lol. Since i got her, iv held her once to move into a feeding tub and she didnt try to bite me( lucky i was alittle nervous) . She ate right when i placed the pinky in front of her.

Here she is. Sorry about the poor picture quality

Well, they were right, it is an albino. Although it is more accurate to call it an Amel. Pretty little thing!

Congrats on the pretty little one. Glad to hear you withstood the sales pitch at Petsmart and did the research on your own. I actually heard a Petsmart associate tell someone that the cornsnakes ate crickets once. Best of luck to you and your new friend!

Yay! It is so refreshing to hear that someone did their homework and knew what they needed to start with. Most pull the trigger THEN ask questions. And standing up to the people at PetSmart (PetDumb?) makes me proud to know you. You will be a great corn parent!
