Hi from Alaska

Crazy Alaskan
Hi, I've met a few people on this forum so far but I figured I should post a general introduction. I'm a masters student working on my degree in Secondary Science Education. I'm doing my student teaching next year, which means I can start teaching next fall. I'm looking forward to making money rather than spending it on school. This year I basically pay to work, which sucks.

I have a couple pets, a 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed dog named Chompers (rescue, I didn't name him), a 13 year old blue and white short hair cat named Misty, a 10 year old tortoiseshell pointed short haired cat named Artemis, a 3.5 year old black hooded rat named Dexter and a 55 gallon tank full of platties. I've wanted a snake for at least 10 years, but only recently felt as if my life was ready to take on the responsibility. All my previous pets have been rescues, but this time I decided to buy a snake. There aren't many snakes up here looking for homes, and I would have been left waiting awhile to find a corn snake. I bought a caramel charcoal from Matthew at Blue Apple and can't wait for it to arrive on Thursday! I'm really curious how the colors progress as it gets older, especially since you can't find pictures of them online.

Welcome to the forums.

I don't know if he'll see this but I know on person on here from Alaska(AllAlaskan)

I've searched through the archives and found quite a few Alaskans from the southern part of the state (AllAlaskan being the only one active recently) but I'm actually a few hundred miles away in the interior. Very different place and culture. A good state all around, though I can't wait to leave.

When I live in Anchorage Betty the boa gave birth to a record 50 babies. She made the front page of the paper and by the end of the week each baby was spoken for. Good job taking the corn snake plunge, these are wonderful critters.
