Hi, Joe! Welcome to the forum & congrats on the new snake!
If I were you, I would make sure temps are okay and the water bowl is filled and there are areas that he can hide in. Then, I'd leave the snake and the furniture alone for 2-3 straight days. Let the little thing alone for awhile.
After that he'll probably be hungry and you should go ahead and try to feed him (separate container with a nice warm F/T small pinky in it). Set that in the viv and let alone for him to eat. Once he's eaten, as gently and as quickly as you can, let him loose in his viv and leave him alone for 3 days (to digest).
Then, you could probably try to hold him for a short while (I'd wait until you see a fresh poop... that way it won't end up on YOU). A baby corn might strike at you, but remember, he's a baby snake and there are lots of things that will try to eat him in the wild and he's gotta protect himself. Give him a few rounds of this so that he can get used to you and he should calm down. Just don't hold after eating because it could stress him out to the point of regurgitating - which is REALLY bad for baby snakes.
Good luck! Others may think a little differently, but I don't think you could go wrong here.
