Hi! Soon-to-be Corn Snake owner here..

Foxide

Need more corns.
Hey! I'm Claire, and after much negotiation with my parents I'm happy to say that I'll be purchasing my first snake very soon! I've been lurking around here for a bit, gathering as much information as I could and now that it's set in stone I finally decided to become a part of the community. I'll be sure to post some pictures of him/her as soon as they arrive.

Thanks!

Hi Claire! You DO realize that you will be negotiating again for a 2nd snake, right? ;) Welcome to the forum!

Thank you both! :D

As for the second snake, yes, I'm sure there will be negotiations very soon. Haha.

Congrats on your successful negotiations ;) I'm sure your parents come around to liking your snake soon enough. My parents were hesitant too when I first showed interest in having a snake as a pet, but they are quite endeared to them now. Do you have one picked out yet? Definitely post pictures when you do get your little guy/girl.

Welcome to the forum! ...And you new addiction ;) Hope this forum helps you alot, and we cant wait to see pictures of the new snake when you get him/her.

Welcome! Congratulations on the upcoming corn snake. It sounds like you've been doing your research BEFORE purchase. Kudos to you!

Thanks, everyone. :)
I don't have one completely picked out yet, but I have found some very pretty Anery and normal hatchlings from a reputable breeder. I originally had my heart set on an Amel but my mom expressed that she doesn't like snakes with red eyes.. Haha. She was kind enough to say that she wouldn't stop me if it really came down to that, though, as it is my snake. ;)

That's funny. My mom always hated our animals when we were growing up, but she sure let us have a lot of them. She was always afraid that the lizards would "jump up and bite her ears".

Thanks, everyone. :)

Welcome! I just got my first corn last Thursday. She's a gorgeous hypo motley, very nice orange coloring, but has normal eyes. So you can get the pretty colors with the normal eyes, to make your mom happy :)

Good luck with your new addition. I can never imagine why some people are afraid of corn snakes; even the red eyed ones. My husband wasn't so keen on the red eyed snakes, so I got a snow; and explained that his eyes arn't red, but pink.

Well, Welcome to the addiction. At one point I had... hmm... 8 snakes. Now i have three. But hey i'm looking into more again HAHA it truly is an addiciton and thats a cute little snakey you have there!
