hello I'm new to this whole snake business . I went to a reptile show in October with my boyfriend . I was hooked . We came home with to cornsnakes. My Lacy a little opal male and a motley ultralav lavender female . Then last weekend we went to a show in NC and came back with a motley caramel female Rolo . I did have one question what is the difrents between my opal and my boyfriend's lavender ? They look a lot alike other than the lavender has blue or gray irus both have red pulpals . will try to post pics I have to figure out how to resize them.

Welcome to the forum!

Ian's Vivarium is a great resource to learn about the genetic differences between those two corn snakes. Here is the link to the page with the different morphs, you can search in the top left corner. http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/

Once again, welcome! And we'd love to see pics once you are able to resize them :)

Ultralav? Like ultra + lava? I'm not sure what else this could be that has red pupils. Lava lavender does look quite a bit like opal (amel lavender), though I believe it usually retains a little more subtle coloration while opals tend to be fairly close to white in later adulthood. Ultramel lavender looks quite a bit different, and I'd imagine ultra lava lavender would also be a bit off.

I don't know . I didn't find this site till after we got them .so I didn't get any of the vinders info if he had put one more letter on her discription on her cup it would have Ben help full. Maybe he'll be at the show in February. And I can find out more about the first two.

No problem! I love looking through the site at all of the cute snakies! Also very helpful for identification though :)

They are 11g and eating well . I like the way they go through my fingers I almost don't want them to get bigger. But I can't wait to see how their color changes as they grow.
