I'm planning on hibernating my big male next week and waking him in Feb.

Are there any good sugestions of things I need to watch or be mindful of when he's hibernating? Someone told me to wake him up every few weeks to give him a drink.

Also what is the max and min temps he should be allowed to be while hibernating?

How often should I check on him or if at all?

Any good advice would be welcome!!!

Thanks

i am breeding my first snake next spring if all goes to plan, she is the snake in my avatar and now weighs about 320g.

i am not brumating mine.

You want to keep your temps in the mid 50s with as very little light as possible. A room or closet that you hardly use is best. Today is actually marking the first day of the cool down for me. As far as the min/max temperatures, try to stay above 48 but below 62 (I just like random numbers! LOL). As far as the water, I would personally recommend leaving it accessible to them, just in case, but only change it about once every week - week and a half to avoid disturbing them too much.
