Hide and Seek!

A few hours ago I went to feed my wild caught miami phase Ruby when I discovered she was nowhere to be seen. I checked under her bedding, in her vine and in her twisty fake log hide. I thought "Darn, she must of escaped again!" I wasn't too worried because the other 2 times she came back.
I checked in her cage again just in case I missed something. I saw her snakey butt slithering into her log hide! I quickly picked it up but did not see her. I looked more closely within the log and discovered a hole that shot up into one of the fake branches (she is only a yearling). It had not been sealed all the way. I put it back in her because there was no way of me getting her out of there and I know she can get in and out at her own leisure. Just wait when I catch her out of that thing!

I wanted to try to get her to come out of the log so I put a couple of pinkies in a dish and left them in there. A few minutes later I heard squeaking so I knew she had the pink. She had grabbed it then drew back her body, leaving just her head and neck. She swallowed the pinkie while still mostly in the hole! She did the same thing with the other one. I guess I will just catch her when she is going for some water.

Or put the pinkies on the other side of the enclosure... Waaaay on the other side... And, if the log is in the middle of the tank, just move it to the side. The side waaaay opposite of the pinky dish! Good luck with the naughty little one. =)
