high humidity

Since a couple of days it's been doing nothing but raining like almost all the time here in Belgium. which has brought up the humidity in my viv (and the rest of the house) to about 75% close to 80%. I know this is more than it should be. I also know that this can ultimately lead to respiratory problems...
I have placed one those moist absorbing boxes close by the viv but I really don't see what else I can about this. I use an UTH so this doesn't lower the humidity, at least not in the way a basking spot would...

Should I be concerned about this? I guess it won't stay like this for too long. Now the weather is just wet but the temps are still pretty high so the heating doesn't jump on much yet...

Things have been going great my with my new corn. He'll be around 4 months old and I'd hate to see him get sick.

Hey bud..I wouldn't worry about it. I live in WA state and it gets humid hear big time. I also went to boot camp at Ft Benning, GA and I have spent lots of time in humid places where corns are natural located. Be sure to have a good temp available in part of the cage about 84 F, good air circulation, clean water, proper bedding and a hide or two and your good to go. :)

I agree with Chet. Good air circulation and you'll be fine. I'm from NC which is in the corns natural range and the heat and humidity stays high around here throughout the summer.

Okay great, I'm glad to hear that. I guess reading some of those things about respiratory infections got me a bit paranoid ;-)

Thnx
