Hiya Folks!

RustySpringfield

I'm all over it!
Hello people.

My name is Matt and I live in South Gloucestershire, just outside of Bristol, England.

I've recently purchased my first snake. A yearling 'Okeetee phase' (I think!) Corn who I've named Rusty Springfield (until I think of something more fitting!). I'm unsure of the sex at the moment (though I'm pretty sure it's male).

I've already found these forums to be incredibly helpful and I thank all the contributors for the wealth of information you provide.

I'm at work at the moment, but will post pictures of Rusty when I'm home and able to.

Any questions are welcome.

Cheers! :dancer:

I got my snake at Reptile Zone! I know the owner, Pete, quite well. He used to live in my street when I was a child and my sister and I used to visit him to see his reptiles, walk his dog, etc.

You're from Newport hey? My Mrs is from Risca! Small world.

I'm from Risca......It's the centre of the universe.....I used to live in Ty-sign. All my family are still up there...Very small world...My sister-in-law was a teacher in the comp.

She was there then, Miss Roberts.....She lived in Manor Way ....My folks live in Elm Drive.. You never know I may have gone to school with your Mrs folks! Pontymister 69-74..
I know Pete as well. Nice guy....Very nice snakes....You been out the back of his place for the grand tour?

Well, even more strangely, my Mrs grew up on Manor Way. Her Mother and Brother still live there.

Pete has yet to give me the grand tour, so I will have to pester him I think. :smash:

I'll have a chat with my Mrs when I get home and I may PM you at some point to see if you did indeed go to school with her folks.

Cheers!

I am interested to know how others would categorise Scar. Okeetee Phase? Just Normal? Something else entirely?

Enjoy.

Name Change

I would never dream of doing this under normal circumstances, but I've decided to change Rusty's name.

I had always considered the possibility that 'Rusty' would be a 'temporary' name to be used until something more fitting presented itself.

For the last few days the Mrs and I have been referring to our new guest as Scarface or 'Scar' for short due to the highly visible scar just on top of his/her head.

Scar was probably my first choice when I purchased the snake, but I didn't want to settle with it if the scar was going to vanish with the next shed.

Well, Scar shed today... And the scar is more pronounced than ever!

I'm sure a few of you will think I'm fickle to change the name of a living creature, but we've only owned him a week and it's taken this long for us to settle on the name we refer to him most by.

Just thought I'd share that here to avoid any confusion.
