So, I have already been around, asking questions, but I figured I may as well introduce myself. Well, I'm 17 and from Indiana. I've always been interested in snakes but I could never really continue my fascination because my mom has never been fond of snakes, let alone most other animals (I've always been basically limited to dogs and fish!). So, a friend and I were walking around a pet store randomly one day and decided to hold a corn snake. We decided that we both wanted one. So, we asked our parents. Mine, of course, said no while her dad said yes. So, we formulated a plan to buy a snake. We decided to pay half-and-half and it would be "ours". So, we spent about a week gathering money and supplies and eventually bought our snake. Well, the people at the pet store didn't want to sell the snake to me due to me being under 18. So I had to call my parents up there and all that. Well, my mom actually really like the snake (it's a snow corn). She thought it was cute so now my friend and I are going in half-and-half again on another one for me and we are calling it even. We have had Lex (our first snake) for 3 weeks this Thursday and I am getting mine in about a week and a half. We aren't sure if Lex is male or female, so her plan is to call it "Lexi" if it's a female. I suspect that it is with the tips I have read about. We are basically addicted to snakes now and don't really plan to stop out collections anytime soon. She wants a ball python next. I really like corns, though. I want a couple different morphs of corns. So, thats me!
Here is a picture of Lex on my hand.

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming purchase. I recently got my first one too...the 18 barrier/parents were not factors for me though :grin01: Are you looking for a particular morph/color for your first one ? Don't forget pics when the time comes!

I really like the creamsicles, and I hope I can find one for my next snake! I am going to my local reptile show for this one, instead of the petstore. I like to avoid the petstore when possible! I will definately post pictures when it arrives!

Congrats! I wish I had been able to get my parents over their hatred of snakes.. I'm jealous that you were able to!

That's a cute picture of a beautiful baby.

Oh, and welcome to the site

I like the Creamsicles too. Here's ours...

Very cute! :)

I wish that I had gotten into snakes when I was your age, too...and considering that I lived in the country of WI, it'd certainly have been easy enough. :) Your little Lex/i is cute, though. When I picked up my Maizie last week, I had a choice between the amel/red albino (Maizie) and one like yours...I got to hold it while the handler went for the amel & the one like yours actually tried to slither up around my neck and was very friendly. I really wanted to go back to the store the next day & get that one, too. *sigh* With the little zoo I now have, one is certainly enough for now...I look forward to seeing your new snake!

Good luck & have fun! :)
