I'm sayin' yes, even tho I never made one.
I read a post a bit back where they use to bricks, on the edge side and water up to I think a inch below bricks and a fish tank heater. A metal shelf , like closet shelving, rested on the brick and a themometer.
There is more but I can't remember all of it now.
