How accurate are tail length and taper

Im still tryin to figure out if my corn is a male or female if according to the rules of tail taper i think it is a female cuz after the vent the pattern is like two lines on both sides of the underbelly but does this actually mean its a female i don't have another snake to compare it 2 so i wouldn't know but i eventually want to breed so i need to figure this out. My corn is still a baby about 14-15 inches in length
 
That can give you a good guess but definitly not 100%. I would take it to a vet or someone who knows how to probe to see what it is for sure.
 
That sized corn can easily be popped. Probing is not necessary. Some people are quite good at telling from the look of the tail, but you can definitely be fooled.
 
In answer to the original question my answer is very. I'd say an experienced person could tell 19 out of 20 times accurately. If a mistake was made it would be saying a boy is a girl, it's hard to mistake a girl for a boy.
