how big *really* do Brazilian Rainbow Boas get?

title says it all, i'm wondering how big these little beauties actually get. could you post the weight in grams of your adults? pics too, because everyone likes pics! especially of BRB's!

everywhere i've read says they can get anywhere from 3.5-7 feet, which is a HUGE range of size! i'm more curious to know what weight they can reach. we've got a pair right now in 34quart tubs and they still have LOTS of space. once they outgrow those they're probably moving into 50 gallon glass tanks.

It really just varies... your best shot is to check with the breeder for the size of the parents. Females are likely to exceed males in size.

Good luck :)

I've read average size is 5-7ft, with the males are smaller than the females. I also recommend staying away from glass aquariums, they are not really recommended for BRBs because they don't hold humidity well enough.

My male BRB is currently 4ft long and is 2 years old, I'm not sure of his weight because I haven't weighed him yet but he is mosy likely about 800-900 grams.

i really need to get their weights hey!

"weigh day" is on the 1st (APRIL FOOLS, so we shall see then) i'm guessing they're about 500 grams or so now, they're EXCELLENT feeders. we got the pair from Henry Piorun in Mission, BC.

i'm not going to try it yet, but when i do move them to the glass vivs, half the viv is already covered with cling wrap to keep in humidity, and we use very large water dishes as we find that helps with humidty too. we stay far away from heat lamps, and i think with the "eco earth" bedding (soak a brick of dirt in water, it expands) and various humid hides they should do okay. they have always had perfect sheds, so i'm pretty confident we have the humidity correct. we probably won't make the switch for another few months though, maybe even after summer.

i've got some more racks in mind that i want to build!
