how big

Minimum is 20 gallon long.
Most snakes will not get to be 6feet, so don't necessarily be expecting that.
 
Very rarely a corn snake will reach 6ft.

Volume isn't as big a deal as floor space. Corns climb, sure, but they don't live to climb. If you're going to increase the space, crawl space would be better.
