How cold is too cold for shipping?

The tiltle pretty much sums up my question. I need to ship out some corns and am getting some ball pythons shipped in. The lows here are in the negative single digits and the highs are only around ten. I think it's way too cold to ship anything with a pulse!

Need feedback please.

Thanks

Dave

I personally am not comfortable with anything under 40 at the destination, and only if the snake is held for pick up. I would never want it riding around in the truck in temps under say 55-60. Actually, I would never want it riding around in the truck. I wouldn't want to take shipment of a snake that left in temps under 35.

excellent way to ship snakes. my buddy does it so im going to tell you how he does it. make sure the snake can be picked up as soon as it is delivered. put it in a box give it something soft but think that can be an insulant. what my friend does is puts an old towel in there with a moisture tablet and heat pack. the snake will hibernate on its journey so no worries. thats the way my friends does it and when they people get there snakes they say the snake is perfectly ok and not harmed. hope i helped. next time i see my friend ill ask him more tips :) he's been doing it for years. he breeds ball pythons.

I don't recommend shipping under 30 degrees so yes its too cold. God forbid there was a delay in shipping that snake may show up frozen and not just a little chilly.

could happen. my friend really does not recoomend it. but he ships out to people only in 35 and up. unless he ships to a warm place.

With a good box, thick styrofoam insulation, a heat pack, and no delays 30 and up is fine, but negative temps in the single digits is just asking for a mishap:)

LOL! You guys have to worry about too cold over there! Here getting the temps down os the biggest headache! We actually have to wait for a cool day!

I think I might go as low as mid to high twenties but no lower than that. That would be the overnight low at either end of the journey.
