How do I become Fed Ex approved...

Borderline Corn Addict
to ship live harmless reptiles (corn/rat snakes) through Fed Ex? What steps do I need to take?

Thanks,
Heather

I would start by contacting your local Fed Ex, or going on their website. I'm sure they have tons of paperwork for you to sift through. I'm thinking about that, too, but haven't contacted them yet. You go first. :grin01:

I sent you an email, but I wanted to add that I think the standard Express shipping is more desirable than the critical. I'll just see what they have to say.

Hi Kathy, (e-mailed this to you too)
This is my first year breeding snakes as well and with 29 eggs so far and at least one more girl ovulating/gravid I need to get in gear as well. If you call them they tell you they cannot ship reptiles, I e-mailed them and was told to call the 800 number that said they cant ship reptiles LOL. I have been told it is a nightmare to get approved in such a manner but we all know it can be done!
Please let me know what you discover and hopefully we will get some helpful advice from people on the forum.
Thanks!
Heather

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

It's a friggin' headache and all, but so worthwhile once it's done, I'm sure. I will get started on that. After all, I have an online business for Goth jewelry, and I'm going to add snakes to it too in another year. I needed that info!

You rock, Hurley!

It's not really that difficult. Just a bunch of hoops to jump through. And you have to often keep calling people back because most employees don't know about the program for herp shippers. Once you get a particular rep who will help you, it is pretty easy.
