the album of "serpenco 2001's" I have at imagestation.com (under username HerpUtopia) has a slightly higher-res copy of this, but I had M.J. and the camera both out at the same time today, so here she is!

As an aside (out of just plain 'ol curiosity), what program did you use to put in the words at the bottom right?

hey hey beautifull snake u got there ............. but i would go for a candy cane.........but this one is cute...

How I added the text - PhotoShop

Hurley,

I have an old version of PhotoShop frrom when I worked in graphc-arts... Using it, I created an image that is a simple text-layer for starters, and then put it aside.

Then I look through the pics on my camera, and when I find one I want to post, I'll crop it, resize it, then (this is really WAY too easy) I can "drag and drop" the text layer from the template onto the resized picture. Once this is done, I turn on the "drop shadow" effect on the text layer, drop the opacity (I did 74% on all the other shots, but felt it was a little strong, so I went to 60% with this shot) and finally, I position the text in a spot that I hope leaves the best parts of the picture unobstrtucted.

The final step is to simply flatten the image so I can save it as a JPEG. Viola'!

I like the drop shadow effect, very cool. I was just wondering, the opacity looks good.

My first opinion still rings true, NICE SNAKE!

@HomeBreeder
you have on your website a very dark rosy rat or something like that. you call her Cleopatra. is she that dark???
do you have other pic´s???

That was a pretty bad pic, wasn't it?

Here's a better one - the best I'll ever get.... Cleo was an acquisition this summer. She was a young WC miami who I later learned had laid eggs shortly before shipping. The stress of being a young mother, along with mishandling from OOPS, I mean U.P.S., and parasites took their toll and she died a couple days ago. It tore me up, she was very lovely and gentle. She was a combination of a warm steel-grey backgrround and rich mahogony saddles that you just can't capture on film (or pixels) but like I say, this is the best shot I'll ever have of her, may she rest in peace....
