How do I delete my classified threads?

It has been a while since I tried to delete a classified thread.
It seems the 'edit' feature is not available on my posts.
Any help would be appreciated as I do not wish to create confusion with updating or posting new ads vs. old ones.
Thanks a bunch in advance.
Sincerely, Jason

I went through this. You can only alter ads for right at 30 days. Once it hits that time limit, you can't change or delete it. Check the service ticket section - whatever it is called - for my thread on it.

Thank you, I sold all of the animals in that post but hatched a few more today and thought I could alter instead of reposting-thanks for the info I'll just do the best I can

To help avoid any confusion when you need to create another thread, you can ask any of the mods to delete the old ones for you.

Just a FYI, there are what I hope are good reasons for putting a time limit on edits and deletes in a classifieds section. Basically it is a compromise between two conflicting camps about what is best to do.

In one camp we have the people posting those classifieds who would like to be able to edit and delete them at will to save themselves the trouble of creating all new ads with just minor differences from the previous ones. Editing out a few sold animals from a posted list is certainly a better method than having to create an all new ad just to indicate those latest and ongoing changes.

However, on the other hand, we have the camp that is composed mostly of buyers who would like to keep the ads that they purchase animals from static and unchanging in case something goes wrong with the deal, or just for reference, that have all the conditions and details still there under which they made the decision to buy. Things CAN go wrong in a deal, and certainly in such a case, the original evidence would be beneficial to both parties to see where the transaction jumped off of the track.

Obviously it's not possible to please both camps. So instead of completely pissing off one camp in favor of the other, I chose a compromise likely to only slightly piss off both.... :headbang:

Not upset at all, I was just caught unaware untill the first time I tried to pull off an out dated ad. EVERYTHING you said makes sense. THANK YOU, Lee
