How do I spruce up the tank?

I'm a pretty handy guy, but when it comes to arts & crafts type stuff I'm as useful as a life raft to a skydiver.

I have some fake plant items I picked up at the dollar store, and one sad stick that has some more fake leaves poorly attached (Gonna fix this)

My snakes tank is bare, and it saddens me as well as him.

How can I turn this stuff into something useful for his tank? I'm going to try and find a much better stick for him also.

I'm having trouble keeping anything firmly secured in the substrate also.

Please tell me what I can do to fix up his bare tank.

I don't think it needs to be firmly secured. I have some of the fake plants with suction cups. They don't stick for more than a few minutes, so I generally just lay them on top of the substrate (I use aspen) or partially bury them. Don't think your corn will appreciate high art over random clutter, it's all about experimenting. Put stuff in and just leave is for your snake to explore for a week or two, then if you are unsatisfied, rearrange. Branches can be collected from outside and baked in the oven to sterilize and kill any bugs. Dollar store or craft stores may yield more plants and you can use a dab of hot glue to attach fake leaves to the branches.
