How do you defrost pinkies?

Jelly Bean

Wild And Sexy!!
Hello everyone I was wondering on how do you all defrost a mouse or pinkie? do you just take it out in room temp? or put it in hot water? thanks. :)

I fill a small bowl with the hottest water I can get out of the tap. I then drop the pinkie/s into the water. It has been taking about 5 minutes to completely thaw them.

Put it in a baggie, let it thaw in room temp, them put in very hot water to heat up for a few minutes.

Hot water since my wife likes a scalding hot shower out water temps can be as high as 130+ deg I put water in a small jar put the pinky in and use feeding tongs to hold it under I keep all my feeders in tiny individual zip lock bags I buy from the dollar store.

Just put it in a cup or bowl of hot water from the tap. Pinkies thaw out real quick :) I don't bother keeping it in a bag.

I use the little bags because some of my snakes wont eat a pinky that has been in water directly My guess is the water dilutes the smell or possibly adds a smell they don't like. I buy pinks in bulk and bag each one when they arrive helps keep them from becoming a frozen lump also.

Putting the mouse in hot water to thaw for 30 minutes, then putting the mouse in the microwave works for my adult corn snake.

No mice in microwaves!

Hot water from microwave, not mouse in microwave. If the mouse is in the microwave, it can explode.

I think the OP already knew this, as the screen name is a sock puppet for someone that was trying to get around a ban. Couldn't even mantain the fiction of being a different person for more than few posts.

I usually put mine directly in the hot water without being in a plastic baggie, then pat them dry on a paper towel. I'm not sure if it effects the scent of the mouse or not, but my snakes seem to love them regardless.
