How do you know if your mouse got Resportory Problems?

Hey all,
I was wondering how do you know if you mouse got resportory problems because my male mouse is always...... sneezing <or something like it> everytime I been down the basement to feed them or etc I can hear/see him sneeze. Or whatever it is he is doing. And if that is his problem, is it contagious, should I take him out of the cage cause the female is VERY pregnant? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tks all.

His enclosure is nice and clean. But the girl I got him off didnt' keep the cages very clean. Anubis is doing GREAT. He is 170 grams and almost 3 feet long.

This isn't a scientific reply, but I'd guess allergies. I had one mouse who sneezed periodically for over a year. She didn't seem to feel bad, was active, good weight, healthy looking - just sneezy. None of the others in her tank ever had a problem. I changed bedding types, hides, food, nothing seemed to matter. I finally quit worrying about it.

On the other hand, these mice were pets, not feeders - I don't know about feeding sneezy mice to snakes. While it's obviously not ideal, I don't know if it would be harmful on a rare occasion. After all, sick animals are typically prey in nature. What do the more experienced folks say about this? Any data?

tks for the response caryl. appreciate it. he seems to be very healthy and doing great. i guess it musht me allergies. heard it agian today. lol tks again.

I have a male mouse who also sneezes a lot and a few weeks ago he got really bad so I took him out and put him on his own where he got loads better but since putting him back in with his girls he has started again I think it is the shavings so I dont tend to put much in now and give them plenty of paper instead.

cool idea claireree, tks for the tip. I will try that tomorrow. the female had her babies yesterday so i can't disturbe the nest yet. they are new mice so they not use to me yet. the last ones i had i was able to take the babies out the day they was born and the mom didnt' mind.

Yes I know what you mean I have two sep cages with breeding mice in one lot is it fine to handle her babies with no problems but the other cage both the mum and dad are really nervous so I generally have to leave them alone, her current litter is about 12-14 days so they are wondering round a bit now but each time I have checked on them before she just stuffs more paper in the nest so I couldnt see them.
