How dwarf are dwarf retic pythons?

What I mean is: How big do they end up getting?
some say a dwarf will reach up to 13 feet, some are smaller but it is like Russian Roullet you are not sure what you are going to get.
I have a 14 foot burm and I can tell you that isn't a dwarf snake.

Are you talking Jampea Dwarf?
or SUPER DWARF retics?

Jampea's can and will surpass 12+ feet.. but will not hit the monster 20's
While Super Dwarfs... 8 is the absalute max! (but they are exspencive)

Here is a picture of my friends 5 year old breeder female on some eggs..
(i got 1.1 from this litter)

i need to become a contributor so i can edit :grin01:

Retics are such amazing animals. The first time I saw their eyes I fell in love with them, but their utter size and bulk still worry me. Not so much because of handling issues, but where do you keep a snake that big? I'm having trouble trying to find a place to keep my BCI...I can't even imagine what it would be like to keep a dwarf, or even worse a full size retic. They're monsters lol.

Dwarf retics are not small snakes, being in the 12-14 range. What are called super dwarfs are much more manageable. There is an adult pair offered on KINGSNAKE today that are seven and eight feet respectively. Reportedly, these pair has produced one hatchling that was 20 grams. Normal retic hatchlings are in the 120-150 gram range. Now here is the real issue. Has this trait been set or are we going to see "throwbacks" that mature out at 16 feet or more? We shall see.

Frankly, to me part of the allure of these giant snakes is their size. They are just majestic. When you are around a 20 footer, you really feel like you are in the presence of something ancient and special. One does have to make special accommodation for the really big ones. Anything over 16 feet, really should have a room of it's own, just like any other permanent member of the family.

you are partly right.. the allure IS The size.. but even looking at those monsters.. they have a one of a kind pattern/color.. its SO amazing.. to get that in a smaller package.. is a gift :)
