How long could a hatchling go?

How long could I leave my hatchling alone? I'm going home for Christmas...I don't think I could bring him...
It would be like 10 days... As far as food and water go, what should I do?
Dustin

He could go 10 days without food but he will need water. The only thing I worry about is my snake knocking over the water bowl. If you have a big enough water bowl and it is very sturdy he should be fine.

I would suggest feeding him a little bigger of a meal just before going away. Also making sure he has a nice big bowl of water that won't be bone dry by the time you return home.

If you do feed him a bigger meal, just make sure he doesn't regurg, because sometimes a large meal could cause a regurg. So just feed 2-3 days before you leave, and your snake should be fine.

He should be ok without a water change, but you'll need more than one (large) bowl in case he craps in one. Then you just hope he doesn't crap in both. ;)

He should be fine with the larger water bowls, but I wouldn't feed him right before leaving. Feed at least 2-3 days before you go. If the electricity went off or your UTH malfunctioned, and he's got a full belly, you'll have a stinky mess when you get back.
