How long to wait until handling...

Desertstrike

Music for the People
...after feeding?

My new 3 year old takes medium mice once every 4 days (re-checking that), fed her today in the morning and she took her time to go and digest and then was moving about in the evening, and she still is, moving around a bit. But I was wondering when it's safe to handle her...?
There's no obvious bulge in her body, to what I can see, so...?
24 hours, 48 hours?

Oh totally! And everyone has different opinions of what's best and what works lol so ultimately it's up to you, but lots of different opinion's really help establish your choice of what's best for your snake.

I think power feeding is really tough on their organs. It's hard for the snake to be constantly digesting, and generates everything to grow much faster than normal.
I'm feeding my snake rat pinkies to bulk up a bit, which to many feeding rat is a huge no-no. But for me, I feel it's the right thing to do for now. But knowing the pro's/con's of everyone's experience/advise has really helped me form my own opinion.

You should post some pics of your snake so we can see! Good luck with everything :)

Here's a good outline for feeding.
Some snakes can go longer between feedings, some stay at smaller prey sizes longer, and some move up to bigger prey sizes faster. At 3 yrs old your corn would be considered an adult, and they do not need to show a visible lump after eating, large mice are usually the biggest prey they will ever need

As to your original question, you should wait at least 48hrs after feeding to handle.

@WestCoast - Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do with her. I mean, she was begging yesterday and today so she was fed on par with advice I was given...I didn't know it was power feeding :O I'm feeling a bit bad now o.o
I have posted a few photos in the photo section <3

@Alicia - What would a med. mouse be? A Young adult?
And thank you for the waiting advice. I will handle her tomorrow evening then <3

EDIT: Added, I only got her the day before yesterday as well, so should I give her like a week or so to settle ?

I've found 'medium' mice this year are more like small adults, they seem to have been downsized! I'd go with feeding her once a week, handle 2 days after feedings, and see how she goes. If she seems to slow down her growth, try to find 'large' mice. If she seems to be getting too porky, tretch out to fortnightly feeds.
