How long?

I'm getting my snake next week! :) Anyway, I figured I'd hook everything up and make sure it'll work right before he arrives.

How long does a heating pad take to heat the viv? Mine's been plugged in for maybe 4 hours now. At one point, I pulled it out and touched it, and it was warm, but the viv hasn't been affected much.

The current temperature is about 76 on the cool side and 78 on the warm, although the darned numbers keep changing on the thermometer, heh (it's digital). I think the rheostat is at the medium setting, give or take.

The heatmat will not heat the air in the viv, if it is getting the air temperature into the 80's, chances are the temperature actually on the mat is far too high. You need to measure the temperature directly on the mat itself.
