How many mice should I feed him.

My corn snake is almost 2 feet and a pinkie is the size of the biggest of his body he is about 8 and a half months old right now. I dont know whether to feed him 1 pinkie every five days or 2 pinkies every 7 days.

You need to feed him something around one and a half times the width of his body. You could try double pinkies for a few feeds and if they stay down, move up to the next size mouse. Two pinkies every 5-7 days should be fine but it depends on the individual snake.

How much does your snake weigh. Weight is the best judge of how much it should eat. I will say at 8.5 months is should be eating something bigger then a pinkie.

Not dumb, a postal scale works well.

I did what Bitsy suggested. Went up to two pinks, when one wasn't leaving a bulge for more than 24 hours. I went up to two pinks, but kept on a 5 day schedule. We did that for 3 or 4 feeds, and I noticed that bulge wasn't lasting very long either. And then I moved her up to fuzzies.

I haven't weighed my girl. Just gone by her size and the bulge. She has grown tremendously now that she's on fuzzies.

An electronic kitchen scale can be used to weigh them. Put the container on it and tear it's weight out, put the snake in the container and there is your weight of the snake. And Bob's your uncle!

2 pinkies every 5 days sounds about right. It's not especially easy to over-feed a young growing snake, so don't sweat it, just use a little common sense.
