Hi guys, firstly this website is awesome, everyone on it is helpful and i've find out so much about CornSnakes since finding this website only a week ago.
Just a quick question about feeding. I have an Amel and shes is roughly 2 and a half years old. Shes about 42''-45'' and is fairly big girth ways. She has never caused me any worries, she eats regular, never leaves her food. Shes active and has no problems with digestion or shedding. I feed her two adult mice per week - 10 days. I only buy them as adult mice so i don't know if they are small/large/jumbo. They are probably about 3'' on average, some smaller, some alittle bigger. They are never any wider than my Amels thickest section. When i first got her 2 years ago i fed her 1 fuzzie, then 2 fuzzies, then 1 adult and now two adults. I didn't really follow any advice or any strict pattern , basically i just upped her food when i thought she looked ready and was comfortable when digesting. I read that alot of people feed 1 adult mouse every 10 days. Am i over feeding? I read that obesity can be a problem with Corns. She doesn't look obese and i let her out to exercise everday, for about half hour. As i say, i've never had any problems with her, shes been a star to keep, especially as she is my first and only snake.
Any opinions or suggestions on this matter would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers Guys. :)

The general concensus seems to be as you move up in size, the longer between feedings. Where you seem to be in feeding, I would feed every 10 days. Just my 2 cents.

Think its really just personal preference, and what your snake can eat without getting too fat. My big male eats either 2 adults every 7 days, or one "ultra jumbo" as the store calls them.. these are 40+ gram mice.. no idea what they feed them LOL.. miracle grow for mice! If I feed him every 10 days, he spends 2 days slithering around his viv looking for food and when I take him out he seems to be giving me that "Whats for supper?" look hehe. Hes not obese at all either.. on the contrary.. hes skinny ~,~ I can feel his little spine quite easily, whereas my 03 male (the smaller one) has that "loaf of bread" shape that folks say is ideal.

Either way, some folks will say stick to the schedule you're on, some will say switch to 10 days... some will give you a completely different opinion. If its been good thus far, I'd stick with it =)

Cheers

Thanks for the tips and info guys. At least i know i haven't been doing anything wrong for the past 2 years. I think i'll stick with what i have been doing, i am sure that if theres anything wrong or i am overfeeding then my snake will tell me, one way or the other? Lol. She does the same thing as yours Gintha, 5-6 days after feeding shes out and about searching for something to eat, and i don't think thats the sign of an unhappy snake, on the contrary i say!! Once again, thanks for your replies.
Have fun.
John
