How much to feed an adult snake

I am getting a corn given to me and was wondering how much to feed it and how often. The person that has it now feeds it a mouse (don't know what size)once every other week. I don't know the weight of the snake but it is about four and a half feet long and is 6yrs old. Any suggestions.

I am currently feeding my adult corn 1 adult mouse per week. He used to be on one medium rat every 10 days. One mouse for a corn that big every two weeks seems low to me, but I don't have a huge ton of experience.

Its my under standing that many members here feed adults every 10-13 days, with some feeding further appart and some closer.

The truth is that it depends on the snake. If its overweight, further spacing apart feedings is fine. My two (slightly) chubby adults get a XL mouse every 14 days, which is half as often as the small adult rats they were being fed that got them into this situation. When the hips dissapear, we may have to revisit our approach.

On the other hand I have another adult that is being fed an XL every 7 days because she is underweight and just laid a clutch about a month and a half ago. She is just about where we want her and she will be going to every 10 days apart soon as a maintainance diet.

Breeders will feed females differently as opposed to just a regular pet snake, with special attention paid to post-lay feedings and post-brumation feedings.
