How often do people feed there little ones. My 4 month old has to feed twice a week. is this normal or did i buy an Anaconda. i dont wanna wake up with him killing me!

i was told once a week was ok... my baby girl started on a one fluff wheni first got her.. (she was about 6 months old) and as she has got older and bigger i've increased the amount she was... now she's upto 3 fluffs on a sunday night...

babycorns

can not be overfed...my baby corns get about 2 big huge fussies every 4 days...it will make them grow and turn out to be big and beautifull corns...
when they get older they will reject if you feed them too much...and when they are grown...they will have enough if you feed one mouse every 7 to 10 days...

Feeding once every 4-5 days is good enough. Anytime sooner than that, that might already be power feeding. That means they get fatter than they should be. Which is pretty unhealthy. If they are power fed, then it's body would be much bigger than it's head....so a pin sized head with a really fat body.

I feed once every week. So it lets them grown slowly and nicely....

My Okeetee is 32-34" long and is 8 mos. old, she eats an adult mouse 3 times a week. She is healthy and not fat, also very friendly. I bet she would eat every day if I let her.

I feed my babies...

every five days unless they are in blue phase. They have a good growth rate, but are not fat. When they get older, I feed less often.

I go with every 4-5 days for the young ones. While they are growing I don't think you have to worry about them getting over fed. :D

I have two corns and they eat 2 larger fuzzies once weekly...I fed one its first (small!) hopper today!!!:D Next time I will feed them both a small hopper...I am hoping this will help them to grow because the fuzzies are not really doing anything anymore:(

hi i was just reading everyone elses feeding times and i was just wondering if i may be over feeding my 4 month old corn, i feed it twice a week on small pinkies, it gets fed one on a tuesday and one on a friday, could someone please reply and let me know if this is all right or not, also when i first got it at 3 months old the lady in the shop where i got it from told me to feed it once every four days.

I feed all of my hachtlings and yearlings every 4-5 days and that seems to be working well. I feed my older ones every other feeding(or every 8-10 days).

Shelly
Your schedule seems ok but I'm not sure if a pinkie is large enough? The food item should be one to one and a half times the size of the widest diameter of the snake. You should be able to see a bulge or bump after it is swallowed, but not so large that there is alot of skin between the scales showing. They can eat things much bigger than you would think.

Hope that helps.

Colleen:)
