Depends on what your snake tolerates, but I'd say it's OK unless you got it recently home.
I've had mine for 8 months now and I usually handle him 10-15 mins everyday. I wait until he's cruising in the viv at night to take him out. If he is not active I don't handle him, this way I'm sure I'll not disturb him much if he doesn't feel like coming out. I avoid all handling after feeding and during the whole shed cycle.
I do about the same... a few minutes every day or two. I also don't handle after feeding or during the period that they want to hide right before they go blue until they've shed. They're taming down nicely.
Since I'm still feeding every five days I really only handle on day four after feeding to make sure there is no chance of a handling induced regurg. It's usually about five to ten minutes. I'm looking forward to getting to longer feeding cycles when I can handle more. I do feed out of the viv, but the transfer in and out is not really considered handling. Even with this small amount of handling, Dolly is getting so mellow about it. He's really fun and is getting bolder about going up my arms.
With the feeding schedule and shedding, I'm averaging 2-3 times a week. This counts when I feed him. I usually take him out and "play" with him for 10 minutes or so before feeding. I've been poo'ed on enough, so I wait 36 hours to handle instead of the usual 24.
